Mascara Colours
Mascara colours have a great effect on the visibility of lashes. However, there are some factors that you must put into consideration when choosing the right colour of mascaras; for example, black mascara colours will not always look good on everybody. Common mascara colours are brown and black, while the different shades in between are pinkish black mascara colours or burnished brown mascara colours. Mascara colours can also come in shades of blue, green, and purple. Always keep in mind your skin tone, eye colour, eyelash thickness, and hair colour when buying a mascara.
Eye Colour
Light-coloured eyelashes have a tendency to reflect the color of the person's eye. Light coloured eyes such as green and sky blue go well with black mascara colours because they absorb eye color and have no reflection, thereby putting more emphasis on a person's eye colour. On the other hand, those with dark brown and black eye colours go well with light to dark brown mascara colours.
Skin Tone
Generally, brown mascara colours should be worn by women with fair-looking skin, especially if they have red or blond hair. Brown colour of mascaras is also advisable for women over 40, who have paler complexions than what they had when they were younger.
Eyelash Volume
Women with thinning lashes should also wear brown mascara colours, while black mascara colours generally go well with women who have thick lashes.
Hair Colour
Women with fair-coloured hairs will do well with brown mascara colours to bring out a natural effect; black mascara colours will bring out the eye colour of brunette women.
It is advisable to wear black or brown mascara colours on formal and/or conservative settings such as workplaces, offices and meetings. But if you're planning to go on a night out and be noticed, then feel free to get creative with your choice of mascara colour. Use clear mascara for longer-lasting effects.
