Removing Waterproof Mascaras
Tuesday January 13, 2009
Waterproof mascaras can be a lot of trouble to remove, so it can be good to find out different methods to try. Not every method of removing waterproof mascaras will appeal to you, but some experimentation should allow you to find the best method that will cause the least damage to your eyelashes and eyes.
One of the most obvious ways to remove waterproof mascaras is to use make up remover towelettes. This can become quite expensive, though it will often provide the easiest removal. Be careful when buying make up removal kits that you do not damage your eyelashes, skin or eyes due to any chemicals in the removers, however.
Baby oil and olive oil, applied to your eyelashes with a cotton ball and then wiped away with a standard cleanser are also useful for removing waterproof mascaras. Essentially, oils will break down waterproof mascaras. You need to be careful with baby oil, as it may damage your eyes if you are not careful. You may also wish to use cotton pads instead of cotton balls, for a cleaner wipe, but be careful not to put too much pressure on your eyes when wiping with cotton pads.
