Using mascara primers to get voluminous eyelashes

27 June 2008

Many mascaras available these days come with mascara primers to enhance volume and length. Mascara primers coat the lashes and separate them to help increase volume. Upon drying, a mascara primer will help your mascara stay on better.

Look for mascara primers that come with conditioners to help moisturise your eyelashes so they don't dry out from frequent use of mascaras.

With mascara primers, apply to dry, clean eyelashes. Apply to the top and bottom eyelashes. If you want really thick lashes, make sure the mascara primer is dry before you apply another coating.

Once you have gotten the desired thickness, let the mascara primer dry. Then apply your mascaras over the top. Apply several thin layers quickly, otherwise you may end up with clumps. When applying the layers of your mascaras, remember to wiggle the wand at the base of your eyelashes to really separate them. Try to wait until your mascaras dry before blinking otherwise your mascara will end up on your eyelids.
