Stila Mascaras

Stila Mascaras are one of the most popular products of Stila cosmetics, a relatively new company in the cosmetics industry. It was founded by celebrity makeup artist Jeanine Lobell in 1994. The company slogan was "Every woman's makeup should be as individual as her own signature." This slogan was derived from "stilare," the Italian word that inspired the brand name, which meant "to pen."

Stila became part of the Estee Lauder group of companies in 1999, but was later sold in the spring of 2006 to international company Sun Capital Partners, Inc. Stila became a regular product that can be found in beauty product chain stores such as Sephora, Ulta and Bloomingdales.

Stila Products

The Stila line of cosmetic's defining characteristic is the use of pearly colors that are soft and shimmery. Though Stila products have the required matte shades, it is the products that have the effect of illuminating a woman's face that prove to be very popular for its customers who want that Stila signature look: feminine, refined and fresh.

Aside from Stila Mascaras, the other Stila products considered to be the company's bestsellers include the Stila Eyeshadow, Eye Shadow Pans, Cherry Crush, Illuminating Liquid Foundation, Smoky Eye Palette- Original, Contouring Trio, Lip Glaze and Cheek Color.

Stila Style of Marketing

Presently, Stila continues to make cosmetic products such as makeup, brushes and accessories, skincare products and fragrances. The company releases four separate collections for every season in a year. Stila is also a part of Estee Lauder's yearly Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, along with various product tie-ups with movies (Legally Blonde) and magazines (Vanity Fair).

Unlike most cosmetic companies which use celebrities as models, Stila opted to have an illustrated girl as its model, more popularly known as the "Stila Girl". She is drawn by illustrator Caitlin Dinkins.
