Revlon Mascaras
Revlon mascaras are part of the famous American cosmetics company Revlon. Charles and Joseph Revlon founded the company along with a chemist named Charles Lachman, whose last initial led to the "L" in Revlon. The company was founded in 1932 during the Great Depression in America. By revolutionizing the manufacturing process of nail polishes, Revlon became known for the shades and colours of their nail polishes. At the time, nail polish was the company's only product, which was sold exclusively to salons. By 1937, Revlon began to expand its operations and sell to pharmacies and department stores. From then on, the company began to grow until the mid-1980s when its competitor Estee Lauder, one of the famous cosmetic cpmpanies, began to gain control of the market.
Revlon Inc. sells their products in over 175 countries worldwide. The headquarters of Revlon is stationed in New York. Although Revlon has been forced to sell many of their businesses and division, it still handles Revlon, Ultima 2, Mitchum, Almay and Jeanne Gatinneau. Revlon cosmetics have won numerous awards for their quality and affordability. At the end of 2006, Revlon reported sales of over 1.3 billion US dollars, with a workforce of about six thousand people. But in June 2007, Revlon had reported 27 consistent quarterly losses, hence the need to reduce the size of the group.
Revlon mascaras are offered in various different lines. Some of the Revlon mascara brand lines include Luxurious Lengths, Lash Fantasy and Fabulash. Although Revlon gained its fame and reputation for its nail products, Revlon mascaras are still regarded for their quality. Aside from cosmetics, Revlon continues to seek out ways to help women by supporting breast cancer advocacy and research. Some of the most famous spokesmodels for Revlon include Rachel Hunt from New Zealand and Elle Macpherson from Australia.
