Max Factor Mascaras
Max Factor mascaras are part of the international cosmetics company known as Max Factor, which was founded in 1909. Max Faktor, who later changed his surname to Factor, is the founder of this company. Max was born in Poland and later moved to Russia, where he opened a shop that sold creams, fragrances, wigs, and other cosmetics. Max gained fame for his products and his skill in cosmetics, and he was invited to become the makeup artist for the royal family of Russia, as well as the Imperial Russian Grand Opera. He continued his cosmetic business after moving to St. Louis, America in 1904. Max decided to move to Los Angeles in 1908, where he saw the opportunity for success in the movie industry. He later became known as the "father of modern makeup", as he revolutionized the cosmetics industry.
Since its beginnings in1909, Max Factor & Company has grown into an international sensation. The actual word "makeup," was coined by the company's founder, Max Factor. After the death of Max Factor Sr., Max Factor Jr. took over the family company. Since Max Jr. had studied chemistry, he had the skills and knowhow for creating and modifying products that would expand the domain and fame of the company. Max Factor Jr. was responsible for allowing public access to Max Factor products, which were exclusive to studios at the time. The company has been responsible for a number of industry firsts.
With regards to Max Factor mascaras, the company manufactured and sold the first wand-applicator mascara. In 2006, the company created and patented the iFX mascara brush. In 1989, Max Factor earned the Rex Award for outstanding product of the year, for their launch of the No Colour Mascara line. Max Factor mascaras offer a number of different mascara lines. Some of the Max Factor mascara lines include Lash Perfection, Volume Couture Mascara, Stretch & Separate Mascara and No Colour Mascara.
