MAC Mascaras
MAC mascaras are one of the leading products of the cosmetics brand Make-up Art Cosmetics, or MAC. MAC was founded in 1984 by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo. The idea to create the cosmetics brand was borne out of the need for reliable cosmetics that would hold up to the standards and necessities of fashion photography. Toskan understood this need since he was both a makeup artist and photographer, while Angelo owned a number of hair salons. The vision and motto of MAC, which was established by Toskan and Angelo, is for the company to cater to "All ages, all races, all sexes."
In 1998, Estee Lauder Companies Inc. acquired MAC as a sub-brand. The buy-out led to a number of changes in the company. Angelo passed away one year before the buy-out. Shortly after the buy-out Toskan left the company and founded an AIDS Charity organization. Toskan had already founded a MAC AIDS fund, which has raised over $100 million US dollars and continues to operate today. MAC Cosmetics Inc., which is still under Estee Lauder, is the headquarters of MAC in New York, New York. The estimated annual sales for the year 2007 is stated at 6.9 million US dollars. Leonard Lauder is the Chairman of the Board for the company.
Aside from bags, accessories and fragrances, MAC mascaras are just one of the many products that MAC offers. As part of the cosmetics division, MAC mascaras have come to be known as the choice for professionals in the fashion, photography, movie, modeling and television industries. MAC mascaras come in a number of different lines, including Fibre Rich Lash, Plush Lash, Mascara X and Zoom Lash. The company's reputation holds strongly to its motto by consistently delivering products for personal and professional use.
