L'Oreal Mascaras
L'Oreal mascaras are part of the L'Oreal brand name, which is under the L'Oreal Group. Based in Clichy, France, the L'Oreal group is the largest beauty and cosmetics company in the world. Eugene Schueller, a French chemist, began manufacturing hair dye products in 1907. By selling his products to hairdressers, he gained fame for his craft. Schueller registered his company under the name "Safe Hair Dye Company of France" (translated from the original French name). Later on, the company came to be known as L'Oreal. The main objective of L'Oreal, ever since its humble beginnings, is to commit itself to the research and development of cosmetics.
L'Oreal has grown into an international group of companies that goes beyond cosmetics. From a small company of only three chemists in 1920, the company now has a research team composed of approximately two thousand members. In 2005, the operating income of L'Oreal increased to 2.26 billion Euros. One of the latest acquisitions of the L'Oreal group of companies is The Body Shop in 2006, which was bought for over 650 million Euros. As of 2006, the chairman of the board of directors for L'Oreal is Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones. Ever since 1989, the company has not done any animal testing. Throughout the past ten years, L'Oreal has received numerous rewards. L'Oreal has been awarded as one of the 20 best companies in the world, and one of the most ethical companies in the world.
There are currently over sixty L'Oreal mascara products available. These mascaras make use of different ingredients and colors to attain certain effects. Among the most popular mascaras are the waterproof mascaras. Some of the L'Oreal mascara lines include FeatherLash, HiP High Drama, Lash Out and Volume Shocking. The differences in these mascara lines have to do with their effects, packaging, and ingredients used for production.
