Estee Lauder Mascaras

Estee Lauder is a cosmetics company which started in 1946 by Estee Lauder and her husband, Joseph Lauder. Their first department store placement was located in New York at Saks Fifth Avenue, and it carried only four cosmetic products: Cleansing Oil, Crème Pack, Super Rich All Purpose Cream, and Skin Lotion.

The company continued to expand as their range of products eventually increased. In 1960, they went international by opening a branch in Harrods, a London-based department store. The next year they opened another branch, but this time in Hong Kong.

Public Awards and Company Expansion

Estee Lauder received two major accolades for her company and its products in the 1960s, one for being one of ten Outstanding Women in Business in the United States, and the other, a Spirit of Achievement Award given by Yeshiva University's Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

In the last 60 years, Estee Lauder has created entire lines of beauty and skin care products such as the Estee Lauder Mascaras, Advanced Night Repair, Re-Nutrive Ultimate Youth Cream, Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia, and other high-selling skincare and makeup products.

Estee Lauder has also created offshoot companies such as Aramis, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, MAC Cosmetics, Donna Karan, and Stila, just to name a few. There are currently 18 other brands that Estee Lauder is affiliated with. By 2003, Estee Lauder had a 20,000 strong workforce with sales and revenues that amounted to $5 billion. One of the company's spokesmodels include Gwyneth Paltrow.

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

The company is known for promoting breast cancer awareness for women and hosting campaigns for the cause every year. This campaign includes all of Estee Lauder's 18 companies. Estee Lauder is currently the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation's first and biggest corporate contributor.
