Covergirl Mascaras
Covergirl mascaras are part of the products of Covergirl cosmetics company which was founded in 1958. The Noxzema Chemical Company, later called Noxell, founded Covergirl in Baltimore, Maryland. The main marketing strategy of the company was to allow cover girls to use their products. Initially, Covergirl only had six cosmetics products known as "medical face make-up". In 1976, the company launched a campaign with American model Christie Brinkley. This led to the increasing success of the company as Brinkley stayed on with Covergirl for two decades. In 1989, Procter & Gamble acquired both Noxzema and Covergirl.
The recent success of Covergirl is due largely to the involvement of Marc Pritchard, who is the president of the cosmetics and personal care division of Procter & Gamble. Pritchard played an important role in the arrangement of Covergirl's sponsorship for the television show "America's Next Top Model". This affiliation also led to the marketing campaign and motto, "Easy, Breezy, Beautiful Covergirl". As part of the Procter & Gamble group of companies, Covergirl continues to be a success, even with its major competitor being Maybelline, which is under L'Oreal. The headquarters for the company are located in Hunt Valley, Maryland. One of the biggest issues regarding Covergirl is animal testing. Covergirl has been accused of animal testing for most of their products, but Procter & Gamble stated in 2006 that animal testing has been discontinued on over 80% of their products.
Covergirl mascaras are one of the more popular cosmetics lines under Covergirl. Some of the different brands of Covergirl mascaras include Lashblast, Fantastic Lash and Professional. Each of these brands consists of a number of mascara types, which can be used depending on the occasion and the desired effect. Covergirl has had numerous award winning products since its beginnings in 1958. One of these award-winning products is the Fantastic Lash Mascara line.
