Almay Mascaras

Almay mascara is one of the cosmetic lines under Revlon. Its brand name was derived from the names of husband-and-wife team Alfred and Fanny May Woititz, who founded Almay in 1931, together with dermatologist Dr. Marion Sulzberger. The Almay discovery began with Fanny May's search for a product that can work on her sensitive skin, which prompted her chemist husband to do an experiment and identify cosmetic ingredients that irritate the skin.

The groundbreaking brand prides itself in making women look their best with the use of natural, hypoallergenic ingredients. In fact, Almay is a pioneer in creating fragrance-free, non-irritating skincare products and does not test its products on animals. The main ingredients in Almay cosmetics include aloe, cucumber, grape seed, meadowsweet, moringa and rosehips. These are known to be natural antioxidants and anti-aging ingredients. One of its many accomplishments is being the first to manufacture cosmetic products that cater specifically to women who wear contact lenses. Long before it became compulsory for manufacturers to reveal the cosmetic components in their products, Almay has already accomplished this feat.

Now a full cosmetic line specializing in skincare, eye, face, and lip products, Almay continues to live up to its name of pure and safe cosmetics by developing products according to women's skin type, eye color and lip shade. Its eye product line, categorized by eye color, consists of Almay mascaras, shadows, liners and brow pencils. Almay mascaras come in various types. The triple effect Almay mascara can give you longer, thicker and curvier lashes. There are waterproof and nourishing Almay mascaras fortified with vitamin B5. The newest addition to the Almay mascara line is Intense i-Color. It claims to intensify your eyes by making your lashes up to 300% fuller, while keeping the eyelash soft. These products contain aloe, vitamins and silk proteins. They are hypoallergenic and are approved by ophthalmologists.
